YCGSI is the pioneer of vegetable ghee, cooking oils, margarine, detergent powder and soap production in Yemen. The company began producing cooking oils and ghee in 1975; a plant for toilet soap followed in 1982, and a detergent-powder plant in 1984.

Over the decades, YCGSI has continuously upgraded, evolved and expanded its operations with the best available technology, allowing it to adapt professionally to shifting market requirements. Expansion has gone hand in hand with improvements to the company's administrative and technical systems and continuous staff training.
